Matthew Woessner
Matthew Woessner, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Public Policy at Penn State University in Harrisburg. His research examines how academia’s left-wing tilt shapes higher education. His book (along with April Kelly-Woessner and Stanley Rothman), The Still Divided Academy, explores disagreements between students, faculty and college administrators concerning issues like the proper scope of academic freedom, the use of affirmative action for hiring and admission, and the overall purpose of higher education. Dr. Woessner’s research on politics in academia has been profiled in The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Guardian, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
